God who is all-knowing, all-powerful and all EVERYTHING knew that the lukewarmness of the Church would develop, God also said that in the last-days (some refer to as the Laodicean Church age which we are no living in)He would pour out of His Spirit upon all flesh. I believe that one of the signs of the pouring out of the Holy Spirit would be a sign of revealing Bible truths–a revival of miracles, signs, wonders, healings and manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. Some have called this a CHARISMATIC RENEWAL, “Charisma” comes from the Greek and has to do with the grace of God. The grace of God in the distribution of the gifts of the Spirit, which means that we are once again seeing in the Church a renewal of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. One of these giftings of the Holy Spirit is “Gifts of Healings.” This means that healing has come back into focus, even though a large portion of the church world will try to convince us that God does not heal today. But why aren’t everyone healed? That is a legitimate question. There are probably a multitude of reasons, but the main one is that the Holy Spirit is trying in one generation to eradicate around 1800 years of religious tradition and unbelief.

On the foreign field where they are not steeped in christian tradition, nor are they gospel-hardened, they just SIMPLY BELIEVE for miracles and great manifestations are being witnessed. Because of hundreds of years of slipping further and further and further into tradition, the Church had to come up with an interpretation of scripture that would support their stand that miracles had ceased. This means that they had to twist, leave out, or mis-intrepret many biblical truths. One of the greatest mis-intrepreted passages of scripture is on “Paul’s Thorn.” Many have been led to believe that their sickness came from God ( a lie of the devil–God has never made anyone sick), and that their sickness is a “Thorn in the flesh,” to teach the something.

John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your rememberance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
I believe that the Holy Spirit outpouring is to lead us BACK into ALL TRUTH. The Spirit of God is trying to do in one generation what we have been undoing for many generations. We must keep in mind that words which are translated in the New Testament from the Greek sometimes do not have the same meaning today as they did in the year 1611, when the King James Bible was translated. For example, today, if we use the word “infirmity” we usually have reference to a sickness. But the Greek word used in this passage does not refer to sickness as we will see as we move further along in our study.
Through the years, man has attempted to bring out Bibles that are “easier” to read and understand because some folks found it difficult to read certain translations. Some of these references which are called “paraphrase,” which are not “translations.”
There are many paraphrases on the market today and they have many good things to say. However, these paraphrases will carry with them the theological stand of the person who did the paraphrasing. If these people have been steeped in tradition that divine healing is NOT FOR TODAY, then their paraphrasing would tend to twist the scriptures to conform to their thinking. Let me give you 2nd Corinthians 12:7-9 from one such paraphrase: “God was afraid I might be puffed up by them (that is the revelations), so I was given a physical condition. I begged God to make me well again. He said “NO.”
Nothing could be further from the truth. This person DID NOT TRANSLATE the passage of scripture; he paraphrased his theology into it. I’m only bringing this out to indicate that we should recognize “paraphrases” for what they are. Use them as references–but don’t use them as your only source of reading the Bible. Yes, they may be easy to read because they are written in modern language, but be wise, they may tend to lead you astray from the TRUTH!

In yesterday’s quoted paraphrase, it would seem that God gave a sickness to Paul. We usually refer to Paul as one of the greatest men that ever lived. Can you imagine a God of love that would choose a man for such a task as the great Apostle Paul and try to show His Divine love by making him sick? That doesn’t compute with me. IF God made Paul sick, then Paul was the only man in Scripture that God ever did it to. IF God made him sick, He went against His own teaching concerning healing and divine health for the believers, for instance in 3rd John 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul propereth.” IF He had made Paul sick, (indicating that it must be His will to make His children sick.) then Jesus must have MISSED THE WILL OF GOD by going about healing. Think about it, you may not have an understanding about the “why am I so sick;” but if you will get settled in your mind once and for all, that God is Love and He DOES NOT WANT HIS CHILDREN TO SUFFER; then you can begin to gain knowledge on how to rise above the tests and trials of life. Think about something if you are a parent would you on purpose put cancer on your child to “teach them something?” God is a loving Father…He is NOT THE CAUSE NOR THE AUTHOR OF SICKNESS!

A lot of people today, including Christians believe that Father God is the AUTHOR of sickness. But, let us take a look at some BIBLE passages and get our thinking in line with the WORD of God. In Acts chapter 10, we see how God had called Peter, through a vision, to go to the household of Cornelius, a Gentile family, and preach Christ to them. While he was proclaiming Jesus, the Holy Ghost fell upon all of Cornelius’ household. They were all baptized in the Holy Spirit, spoke with tongues, and magnified God. The Gentiles were brought into the family of God and into the fullness of the Holy Spirit at the same time. Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil.” Just from this one Scripture (will get to more) we can see that it is the will of God to heal every time of every disease. PETER CALLED ALL SICKNESS THE OPPRESSION OF THE DEVIL. So, as some believe that even if Paul was sick, GOD WOULD HAVE HEALED HIM! Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

In Luke 13:11-16, we have the story of a daughter of Abraham, who had been bowed over for eighteen years with a sickness. This lady came to Jesus and was healed. This happened on the SABBATH and upset the religious leaders of the day. It is unfortunate, that I see the same thing today. When God does a miracle, a healing, raising of the dead (yes it is still happening today) the blind seeing, the deaf hearing the RELIGIOUS BUNCH still get upset. Why? Because they would have to admit that they are wwwwrrrrrrrooooooooong. It rubs their theological fur the wrong way, and unfortunately they won’t “turn-around.”
If I NEVER see anyone get healed, I believe that it is available today….if I NEVER see anyone get saved, I believe that it is available today… if I NEVER see anyone delivered, I believe that it is available today! AS IS YOUR FAITH SO BE IT UNTO YOU! Jesus the Lord of the Church said that…I’m going to side with Him, and TAKE HIM AT HIS WORD TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY…(WHICH IS HIS ABILITY!) CAN SOMEONE SHOUT AMEN?

Even though God says that He doesn’t change, the modern day school of thought has made Him a different kind of God today than when Jesus walked the earth. Jesus said of the lady who was a daughter of Abraham, that she should be loosed of her infirmities “whom SATAN has bound.” Jesus said SATAN did it to her. Peter said, “all sickness is the oppression of the devil.” Peter also indicated that all of the healing ministry of Jesus was setting people free of the oppression of the devil.
Both Jesus and Peter tell us that the devil is the author of sickness, and not God. If you have any question about this, get it settled once and for all in your thinking. If you do not, the devil is going to keep you bound for the rest of your life. I am NOT SAYING that if you are sick you are “demon possessed,” but ALL SICKNESS AND DISEASE HAVE THEIR ROOTS IN SATAN! IT IS NOT THE WILL OF GOD FOR YOU TO BE SICK!

In Deuteronomy Chapter 28 sickness is considered a curse. BUT, look at Galatians 3:13-14: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” In the New Testament, there are only three classes of people: Jews, Gentiles and the Church of God. (1 Cor. 10:32) Before you got born-again, you were classified as a “gentile.” But, once you received Jesus you became a member of the CHURCH THE BODY OF CHRIST! Then, as we look at Galatians 3:29 “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” We need to develop within ourselves, that sickness is under the curse…Jesus said concerning the daughter of Abraham that satan did it to her. If your body is experiencing sickness or disease, GOD DIDN’T DO IT! GOD THROUGH JESUS REDEEMED YOU!
