When we first begin to walk in the principles of faith, our “thinker, willer and doers” may have some problems “kicking-in.”  Keep meditating on the promise, say it, think it and practice it until the Word begins to bring you a “picture” of the answer.  When that happens, nothing can sway you from your faith and receiving the promise.  GOD WILL DO IT! The thing that speaking the promise over and over,  releases “substance” in that promise.  Keep on saying it until you are FULLY PERSUADED like Abraham was. Remember, Jesus said “speak TO the mountain,” NOT speak ABOUT the mountain.

Thanks for wonderful intercessors last night, what a BLESSING YOU ARE!

God need us to be “fully persuaded” so that He can bring the desires of our hearts to pass.  Every time we quote a promise, we strengthen our faith.  When we engage in doubt and negative speaking, we our strengthening our fears, which is in practicality is taking sides against our own faith. It’s like going to the gas station, filling up with gas and then punching holes in our gas tank. We are defeating ourselves.  We lose!  Quote the promises, learn them by ‘HEART’ NOT FROM MEMORY! Be consistent, stay in faith the promise will manifest itself.  It is worth it, and next time it will be easier and easier and easier….remember, be sure to do what you know to do according to the Word, and God will do what He knows to do!  Isn’t it wonderful to know that you are PLEASING GOD? Shout AMEN somebody!

John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”                               1st Thessalonians 5:23 “……………and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless….”  John 6:63  “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh prfiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you they are spirit, and they are life.”

Notice some things, God is A Spirit (then there must be other spirits), You are A spirit, and God’s Word is Spirit! We sometimes use religious terms, and don’t really give much thought to what we are saying; for instance “25 souls got saved last night at Church.”  I know what someone is saying when they say that, they are referring to someone receiving Jesus as their Savior.  But BIBLICALLY that isn’t correct.  Look at what James the half-brother of Jesus says:                            James 1:21 “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”  When we get born-again, our SPIRITS (the inner man, the real you) gets saved (2nd Corinthians 5:17).  Then we are supposed to renew our minds (souls) with the Word of God which is a process AFTER the New Birth.  The more we renew our minds with the Word of God, we begin to think and act like our Heavenly Father. Faith is not of the mind, faith is of the heart, the inner man.

Mark 11:22-23 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass: he shall have whatsoever he saith.”  Faith is of the heart.  Jesus said that we are not supposed to doubt in our hearts.  So if we’re not supposed to doubt in our hearts, the what do we do?  BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS!  As you look at the Scripture references today, I want you to count a couple of things: “say or saith,” and “believe.”  He said “say or saith” (keep on saying) THREE TIMES, and “believe” only one time.  It seems to me, that He was telling us that “saying” is tantamount to our believing in our hearts.

Remember, God is A Spirit. You are A spirit and the Word IS Spirit.  Faith brings the unrealities of the spirit realm into this natural realm.  This means the spirit realm is greater than the natural realm.  Faith is the spiritual force that brings the promises to pass in this natural realm, changing what is TRUE to what is TRUTH!  Faith is of the heart not of the mind, that is why we need to renew our minds with the Word of God, as the mind is the doorway or gateway to the heart of man.  That is why meditating on the promises and speaking out the promises will build faith into our hearts.  But, faith is of the heart, not the mind!

Thanks so much for allowing the Presence of God to move so mightily in our midst yesterday! JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE!

James 2:20-24 “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?  Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?  And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the friend of God.  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Faith gives substance, to hope.  Hope is the BLUEPRINT (the promise or desire) that we have for our life or situation.  For instance, maybe like me once in a while you get a special “craving” for a certain food…let’s just say a pizza; you probably think about what kind you would like, and what toppings you want on it..you meditate on it, think about it to the degree that you can almost taste it.  But, if you never get out of your chair and go to the pizza shop to get it, you are not going to get the pizza!  You didn’t get the pizza because you did not put ACTION to your faith.  You thought about it, you meditated on it to the point that you could picture it.  Bud you didn’t taste it because you didn’t do something about it.  You couldn’t sink your teeth into hope with your actions, and therefore you couldn’t sink your teeth into that pizza.  It is vitally important that we put ACTION TO OUR FAITH!  If we don’t act on our faith, we can actually miss out on the promise.

Abraham did what he was told to do he acted on the Word of God, and Abraham’s faith was made perfect (matured) by his actions and therefore he received the promise that he would be the “father of many nations,” and he was called the FRIEND OF GOD!  Since God is not a respecter of person (Acts 10:34) as we put corresponding action to our faith in the promises of the Word,  our faith will mature and we also will be called a FRIEND OF GOD! Isn’t that wonderful? We need to do everything we can to have our actions correspond with the Word of God…faith without works is dead.

Hebrews 8:6 “But now hath he (Jesus) obtained a MORE EXCELLENT ministry, by how much also he (Jesus) is the mediator of a BETTER COVENANT, which was established upon BETTER PROMISES.” (emphasis mine) As believer in Christ Jesus, and having a covenant with God through Him, we have a basis for faith.  This new covenant (Bible) is loaded with promises from God.  It is a BETTER covenant with BETTER promises, because of the BETTER SACRIFICE..JESUS CHRIST! Under the old covenant, things were “covered over,” but under the NEW COVENANT, THINGS ARE CHANGED!  This is a good place to shout!

Our praise team is beginning to expand with some amazing, dedicated folks who just want to praise the Lord and help us in getting there! We practice at 5:00pm on Wednesday. You are welcome to come and join in!

Remember when we looked at the basic principles of faith for receiving the promises that Abraham did?                                1. Abraham had the promise of God regarding the matter.                                                                                                  2. He believed the promise through his words and actions.                                                                                                3. He did not consider the problem.                                                                                                                                  4. He gave glory to God before he physically saw the answer.                                                                               If we follow these four basic principles of faith, the promises will be made sure to us.  Let’ look at Proverbs 4:20-22:            My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

Attend to the Word of God, (read it, listen to it, pay attention to it, give it first place and act like it is so). As we keep His Word before us and at the center our our heart we will become FULLY PERSUADED as Abraham was and God’s promises will bring life to us and health to our flesh!

2nd Corinthians 12:7-10 “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Gradually, after the death of Christ, signs, wonders, and miracles began to fade out of the Church.  They faded out because DOUBT and UNBELIEF slipped in.  Even before the New Testament was completely written, FALSE prophets, LUKEWARMNESS and WORLDLINESS was invading the Church.  UNBELIEF was gripping the heart’s of God’s people INSTEAD OF FAITH!

After the close of the first century, miraculous manifestations became fewer and fewer.  Although the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit seemed to cease to a great extent after the time that is referred to as the “Apostolic Age.”  There is NO EVIDENCE WHATEVER that this occurred BECAUSE the Lord withdrew the gifts.  This happened because the Church “LEFT THEIR FIRST LOVE” and became LUKEWARM.

MEN OF DESTINY 6:30 Tuesday, we will be in Chapter 3 in our study.

If today is SATUDAY (and it is) then tomorrow is?  THAT’S RIGHT TOMORROW IS SONDAY! I am EXPECTING to have an incredible time around the Word, the Spirit and the believers!  COME EXPECTING GOD! YOU ARE WELL ABLE!
