Proverbs chapter 3 verses 13-17 declares that Wisdom is BETTER THAN GOLD! And Wisdom is BETTER THAN MONEY! Too many times we often try to rely on the wisdom of man. But we need to tap into God’s Wisdom…God’s Wisdom is on a different level than the wisdom of man…if I can use an analogy, wisdom is available on a certain level or frequency, man’s wisdom is on frequency “666,” and God’s Wisdom is on frequency “777” we will always be tuned to “some” frequency, but to tune into “777” we ask the Holy Spirit (in faith) to search His sources of information for the answers to our situation.

Another reason that the priests could not access the Wisdom of God was that they were not seeking it. They didn’t desire it. One man said, what you do not desire you do not deserve. Proverbs 18:1, “Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.” The religious leaders thought they knew it all. Remember, the priests were living a little better, but they were sinners like everyone else. And their pride and arrogance blocked the Wisdom of God.

A second reason the priests couldn’t get the Wisdom of Jesus is because of pride. They had the Torah (knowledge). They were life-long dedicated students and teacher of the book for understanding, but they couldn’t put knowledge and understanding together and get wisdom. Pride in our education or our own ability or our intelligence will sometimes negate the Wisdom of God. That is why Jesus said that we need to become “like a little child” willing to listen and be taught.

As a 12 year old, Jesus astounded the temple teachers and priests. Why couldn’t the priests get Jesus; wisdom? Because they could have if they hadn’t been trying to build THEIR OWN kingdom. When you are trying to build your own kingdom, you negate the wisdom of God. We cannot get the wisdom of God operating in selfishness and wrong motives, the wisdom of God works on love!
