Jesus went to hell and paid the price for man’s sins. Jesus did not sin; He BECAME sin. He bore mankind’s sin…was man’s substitute. He died for the sins of the world. Then the Spirit of God went into the very bowels of hell and unleashed the creative power of God to make Jesus ALIVE AGAIN! Jesus took back that authority that Adam had lost and carried His blood into the holy of holies. He ratified a NEW COVENANT (with better promises), purged man’s sins and cleansed the heavenly utensils of worship with His own blood. Jesus redeemed mankind and restored his authority in the earth.

Wow, January 20th already into the New Year, a couple of interesting things taking place today….the inauguration of the new president, AND the COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF! Sports and politics may not be on your agenda, but we are instructed in the Word, 1st Timothy 2:1-2 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” So, we need to continually pray for those in authority over us.

The treason Adam committed reached from heaven to the lowest part of the earth. God had given man such authority that the Fall affected three worlds of existence: heaven, earth and under the earth. This treason perverted everything. That is why it is so important that we learn about WHO we are, WHAT belongs to us and WHAT we can do in Christ Jesus.

Jesus knew He had to go to the cross to legally obtain man’s redemption and give the authority back to mankind. Jesus responded with the Word (written by the man Moses) instead of acting on what satan said. Jesus PASSED THE TEST that Adam failed. Because of the far-reaching effect that Adam’s sin had instilled in mankind and the earth, we can begin to understand the lengths that Jesus had to go in order to redeem mankind. Since man was the key figure in the fall, so man had to be the key figure in redemption. There had to be a man like that first Adam, Jesus was the SECOND ADAM!

As you know, Adam committed treason giving his authority over to satan, as an action of his free will. Adam was the first man ever to be born-again from LIFE to DEATH. The very nature of satan was lodged in his spirit. In Luke 4:6-7, Jesus was tempted by satan. satan said that he would give Jesus all power or authority if He would worship him…it must have been the enemies power to give or it would not have been a temptation.

Because of what Jesus did, our confession is one of authority or humility. The born-again believer has been made a new creation in Christ Jesus. He is not SELF-RIGHTEOUS but the righteousness of God in Christ. Man has brought into existence equipped with the same authority that God used in creating him. He gave a covenant to man, delegating that authority to him. (Now we know why the world is in such a mess)

When God created man, He spoke words and brought him into existence the same way He spoke words and brought this planet into existence. Whenever God speaks, the Holy Spirit takes the substance of faith and brings those words into existence. When we speak the Words of God, the Spirit of God will move because that same authority is in you. What Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection did in us when we were born again is GREATER than what satan did in Adam. Death has been swallowed up in LIFE (Zoe)!

Matthew 28:18-19, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying. All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. God ye therefore…..” God has invested authority (the right to use power) in the Body of Christ (that’s you and me). The authority of the Lord Jesus Christ has been invested in the Body of Christ to OPERATE HERE in the earth. Man has been given the authority to choose and speak words at his own will. Authority is communicated by words. God created everything that can be seen with words. What do words do? THEY PAINT PICTURES…..what kind of pictures are you painting on your spiritual canvas?
