The Word of God is the principal thing. “Principal” means chief; most important, or considerable. So the “principal” of something is the MOST IMPORTANT PART. For example,, if someone borrows money from a bank, there is principal and there is interest. The principal is the most important part. Without it there is no interest. If you are baking a cake, the flour is the “principal” thing. It is the most important ingredient in the cake, and without it you don’t have a cake.
