In Ephesians 2:1, “And you HATH HE QUICKENED, who were dead in trespasses and sins.” The words, that I capitalized in the KJV Bible are in italics, which means they are not in the original text but put there by the translators for clarification. So, the original reads “And you who were dead in trespasses and sins.” Sometimes the chapter and verse separations will lessen the clarity of complete thought. In fact, Ephesians 1:20 actually clarifies Eph. 2:1 you can read the verses like this: “When He [God] raised Him [Christ] from the dead…AND raised you…who were dead in trespasses and sins. The same verb that expresses the reviving of Christ, ALSO expresses the reviving of Christ’s people! So the mighty act of God which raised Christ from the dead ALSO RAISED HIS BODY!
