Paul uses the word ENDUO in Ephesians 6:11 in this same way…to denote the act of putting on a new set of clothes. However, this time he uses this word in connection with spiritual armor. He instructs us to ‘PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD….” Moreover, Paul uses the IMPERATIVE TENSE in this text. This means he is NOT making a suggestion; rather, he is issuing the very strongest kind of command that can be given. In the strongest tone of voice available, Paul is commanding; us with great urgency to take a particular kind of immediate action. He is COMMANDING AND ORDERIN US TO BE CLOTHED WITH THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD!
