David writes, “I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune (meditate) with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search:” (Psalm 77:6). “Mine eyes prevent the night watches that I might meditate in thy word: (Psalm 119:148). For David, meditation was a time of fellowship with the Lord, a time of worship and praise, which draws the presence of God. When we meditate, our heart (spirit) makes a diligent search, reaching for answers or making new discoveries in God’s Word.
