Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, Luke 22:44 says, “And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Jesus was agonizing in prayer, knowing what was to come upon Him. The pressure was so intense, He literally began to sweat blood. The pressure perceived is so strong that the top layer of the person’s skin separates from the second layer of skin, forming a vacuum. The vacuum then fills with blood, and instead of just normal sweat pouring out, blood begins to ooze from the person’s pores. When others fail to stand with you like you think they should, realize that they probably don’t understand what you are going through; ie, Peter, James and John.
