Romans 8:2,“For the LAW of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the LAW of sin and death.” There are LAWS in the universe. A LAW is something that when applied will get the same results every time. An apple will FALL to the ground from a tree because the LAW of gravity is at work. You can’t see the LAW, but it is at work all of the time. But, LAWS have various degrees of power, and can be superseded by other LAWS!
